We were one of the first places in the UK where women could access higher education. Today, as a university of social purpose, we’re still transforming lives and responding to global needs and challenges by building on our incredible platform of outstanding research, education, and civic and global engagement. You can be a part of this. Our courses cover arts, business, humanities, law, and sciences, and we often take a cross-disciplinary approach that means you’re getting the best teaching from across the university. We consistently rank among the UK’s leading universities for both teaching and research, with 88% of Royal Holloway’s research rated as world-leading or internationally excellent in the latest REF (2021). This puts us in the top 25% of UK universities overall. Plus, many of our departments were ranked top 20 in The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2025, the Complete University Guide 2025 and The Guardian University Guide 2025. Choose to study with us and you’ll receive outstanding teaching from world-leading experts, who take the time to get to know you and help you develop your passions or discover new ones. Our research-infused curriculum ensures you have the chance to get involved in discoveries that are creating real-world change today.   We also cultivate partnerships that link us with local and global industries and culture, so you can boost your studies with real working experiences. We have two locations: A close-knit community campus in Surrey that’s just a 40-minute train from London, and a vibrant base in the very heart of central London. Wherever you’re located, you’ll have access to top-notch facilities and expert staff. It’s not all about studying. We provide careers support from day one and opportunities to give you skills and experiences you can take into the workplace. You might have the chance to find a work placement, volunteer in the local community or become a student ambassador. We also offer a fantastic range of social events, clubs, societies and sports, so you can enjoy some well-earned downtime. We’re pleased to offer a great range of scholarships, bursaries and other funding opportunities, so you can make the most of your time here. They range from course-specific and sport scholarships to means-tested opportunities and automatic tuition fee reductions for those coming from certain countries. Brave from our beginnings, Royal Holloway has been opening up university education to those who didn’t think they belonged and asking the difficult questions for over 170 years. We’re here for what matters – to society and the world, and most importantly, to you. At Royal Holloway, we have a proud history of being at the forefront of social change.
